1. Why does Max agree with his father, who says, "I, Kenneth David Kane, do swear by all that's Holy that I did not murder this boy's mother"? What does the story Kenny tells about the "injustice" that was done him, tell us about him?

2. How are Kevin and Kenny similar in how they deal with the world? How are they different?

3. What is the irony in calling the tenements the New Testaments? What is ironic about Killer Kane posing as the Reverend Kenneth David Kane? Why is Kenny's remark that you should never trust a cripple ironic?

  2. I think Max agrees with his father that he didn't kill is wife. I don't know if I would agree with Killer Kane. Some part of my does and the other doesn't. I don't know what one to choose. If I had to pick one I would agree with Killer Kane, because I don't feel like getting murdered. I hope to god at the end of the book Kevin is left alone. Because a strage death of Max. By Killer Kane. I hate Killer Kane. Killer Kane doesn't have a right to kill people like that.

  3. Max agrees with his father about how he did not kill anyone because he is swearing on the bible. Also he says that God should strike him dead if he was lying. I think he is right about not killing anyone. I bet he was accused for something he didn't do. The story Kenny tells about the injustice that was done to him is right I think. I think he is not very nice, but I still believe that he didn't murder anyone. What he did to Max I can understand because he is Max's father and he hasn't seen him in a while. I think he is overdoing though by breaking into the ladies house.

  4. I think Max agrees with his father because he doesn't want to get killed. I too probably would've agreed with Killer Kane because I don't want to die. Also so he wasn't accused of being brainwashed by his grandparents. I think that Max did the right thing.
I think the story that Killer Kane told us about himself tells us that he is a con-artist who wants to brainwash his kid. It also tells us that he might be mentally unstable because he did kill his mom. I hope that he doesn't kill Max. Killer Kane is a sick, sick man I hope the book ends with justice being served

  5. I think Max agrees with his father so he doesn't get hurt or beat. Max is scared that his dad will hurt someone he loves and cares for. Max knows that Kenneth killed his mom but he doesn't want to get hurt if he would say that Killer Kane is lying. I wouldn't agree with him because he did a bad thing to Maxs' mom. I think that Killer Kane shouldn't ever walk down the streets again. I think that they should just keep him in jail. It's a shame that everyone makes fun of Max because of his dad and what he did. They should feel sorry for him and loosing his mom. Killer Kane is a terrible man and isn't fit for the real world.

  6. The story Kenny tells is right. Kenneth did kill his wife and should be thrown in jail.

  7. Well i think that Killer Kane is really tuched in the head. HE dose not really think right. i think that he should not have ever been let out. I also think that he is just trying to change the story from what it is really about or happened. This is just a question what bone did that girl brake? Dose Killer Kane get the gun that he wanted. Who would hook a killer upwith a car. I feel like that meakes you just look like the bad guy.

  8. I'm responding to gk1221. I agree with you I think Max agrees with his dad. I do have to disagree with you though because I would agree with Killer Kane so he wouldn't kill me. I have to agree with you because one part of me is saying to believe him and the other isn't. I also hope that Kevin is left out of this because he would probably just get in the way. On the other hand he is wicked smart so I don't know if he would help or get in the way. I also dislike Killer Kane in a very strong way. I hope justice is served.

  9. I responding to nk0822. I don't know if i would want to agree with Max. One part of me wants to. And the other part of me wants me to disagree with Max. I'm not sure what one to choose. But if I had to pick one I would agree with Max. Because I don't want to get murdered by Killer Kane. I think that Max did the right thing by telling the truth. I wouldn't like to see Kevin alone at the end of the book because of a strange death of Max by Killer Kane. Killer Kane doesn't have the right to be killing people like that.

  10. Well kevin and kenny are the same because they both have a problem. Kevin's is that he needs a new body. Kenny is that he has a mental problem he think that he didn't kill Max's mom. Well would the people at the jail kinda know about him being crazy. kevin is small really small and max is like a giant to him. Kenny is judge just because he is big. Do you think that he wouldn't be judge if he wasn't so big? Some times i feel like am really big and i feel left out because of it too.

  11. I disagree with bm1119 on how Killer Kane isn't lying. I think Max was lying so he wouldn't get hurt if Killer Kane got out of jail. I think his dad may have killed him too if he didn't lie. I think it was a good thing he got sent to jail incase he is a bad person, that way he doesn't hurt anyone, like Max. On many pages they call him Killer Kane for a reason, like on pages 73, 75, 77, and on page 79. But after they say his name, the rest isn't true. I agree with you bm1119 on how he hasn't seen Max in a while and how he didn't do anything wrong, but he should get some visiting rights. It doesn't give him any right to break into someone else's home even though he did want to see Max.

  12. Kevin and Kenny are similar with dealing with the world because they both control Max. Kevin controls Max when he is on his back by controlling were he goes. Kenny controls Max by tying him up on a rope and bringing him around. Also they both are trying to become a normal person. Kevin is trying to become normal by doing the transplant. Kenny is trying to become normal by trying to forget about being called a killer. They are different because Kenny is coming from a way different place then Kevin. Kenny is trying to turn his life around after getting out of jail. Kevin is trying to turn his life around by getting the transplant done.

  13. I think Max agrees with his dad because he is his dad. I don't think many people disagree with their dad. I know I don't but Max might disagree with his dad because Killer Kane was in prison. What are you suppose do say, "Oh I don't believe you because you were in prison." I think Killer Kane is lying because he just wants Max to believe him so Max can tell that he trust him and everyone will believe him. Max can be trust so Killer Kane takes him and tells him because he knows that everyone some what trusts him. Killer Kane should be put in jail because he did kill someone. I also think that Max agrees with Killer Kane because he doesn't want to get hurt. So he does what ever Killer Kane tell him so he won't get hurt.

  14. I agree with do1112. Kenneth did kill his mom. I also thought that he didn't kill his wife at first but time has changed. It is also possible that was framed. Well what do you guys think. Then again he did try to kill Loretta but she is fine. She also would have died if it was not for Max. Kevin did help to so they all helped to get killer kane in the right place.

  15. Well i agree with do1112. Kenneth did kill Max's mom. Be for i thought that he didn't do it but time has changed. i believe that Kenneth did do it. There is also the possibilay that he was framed. Why would any one kill Max's mom. it would be pointless to kill her and that is why he did. Do any of you guys think he was framed. i really don't think that some one could poll that off.

  17. Kenny and Kevin are alike because they aren't normal and they both control what Max does. Kenny controls him by dragging him around on a rope. Kevin tells him where to go by kicking the shoulder that is the way to turn. They both want to change their lives. They are different because Kevin wants to get a transplant to change his life. Kenny wants people to treat him like he wasn't in jail. They come from two different worlds. Kenny gets a lot of attention because he was in jail. Kevin always gets ignored. People should just treat everyone normal, big or small, nice or "mean."

  18. What's ironic about calling the tenements the New Testaments is that the people who live there are bums. It's ironic because the New Testament is holy and in the Bible, the people who live in the tenements aren't even close to being in the Bible. I laugh every time they mention it.
What's ironic about Killer Kane posing as Reverend Kenneth David Kane is that he isn't even close to being a priest. That is really scary, a killer as a priest!
What's also ironic is how Killer Kane says you should never trust a cripple. It's ironic because he trust bums like Iggy Lee. I would rather trust Kevin than a bum like Iggy Lee.

  19. Kenny and Kevin are similar in how they deal with the world because they both control Max. They kind of control how he feels too. Like Kevin makes him feel happy because Max has a friend he can depend on. Kenny control how he feels because he makes him answer the question with what he wants to hear. Kevin also controls him by using his feet to guide him around. Kenny controls him by using the rope to tell him where to go. Kevin and Kenny are different in how they deal with the world because Kevin is nice to Max so Max does what he says. Kenny is mean to Max and Max doesn't want to get hurt so he listens to what he says.

  20. I agree with nk0822 about calling the tenements the New Testaments. Nothing in their is like the New Testaments. That place is scary with a bunch of mean people. The bible version of the New Testaments is holy and it some mean people, but it also has very holy people in it. Also I agree on your opinion on how Killer Kane says never trust a cripple. The people who Killer Kane are people in gangs. Like Iggy lee, Iggy was the leader of a gang. Plus Kevin is nice and trustworthy. I would way rather trust Kevin.

  21. I agree with you nk0822 that all the people that live there are bums. You're right that the people that live there aren't even close to the Bible. They think they are but their not. You're right that Killer Kane isn't even close to being a priest. That would be scary to have a killer as a priest. I wouldn't want to go to that mass. Why can't you trust a cripple, you don't have to be mean. Cipples are really nice. I would rather trust Kevin than Iggy.
